The Golden Island


In 2023, we had the task to create a promotional campaign to attract customers and explain the McDonald’s loyalty program with its “M” points system.

In order to do so, we created a Jump and Run game, rescuing McDonald’s famous characters from the 90s with a fresh new look to create the fantastic world of the Golden Island, with levels inspired by iconic McDonald’s products.

The Hamburgler was in charge of the “M” coins treasure and after discovering he could exchange them for burgers and other delicious rewards, he ran away leaving a trace of coins all over the maps.

So we challenged customers to play with Birdie and Grimace to collect the coins across the levels that were released weekly, in exchange for amazing prizes just as in the McDonald’s loyalty program.

With levels like “The Fry Fortress”, “McFlurry Mountains”, “McNugget Mines”, “The Big Mac Bay”, and “Rooftop Rush”, the game had over 108k plays just in the first 8 hours, great numbers for the Swiss market.

The stunning illustrations were developed in partnership with Lightfarm Studios.
